Fertility Foods For Men are a topic of near constant discussion in my clinic. There's a lot of rumors floating around the internet and on Facebook Groups and forums. Take their recommendations with a large grain of salt. Often the fertility foods for men that they recommend is based on nothing more than third hand overheard accounts, something for a badly researched magazine or worse - an expensive product in disguise! Don't be fooled.

In this article I am going to give you some general recommendations regarding fertility foods for men, based on stone cold science and traditional medicine. These foods are free of inflammatory substances that can negatively impact male reproductive health, and contain many nutrients and chemicals necessary for:

  • Boosting Testosterone
  • Improving Sperm Motility
  • Improving Sperm Morphology
  • Improving Sperm Count and Volume
  • And much more.

In fact, these Fertility Foods For Men are based on the same recommendations I make for men suffering with specific conditions in my clinic that produce great successes.

Fertility Foods For Men, In General

Before we get into the specific foods lists, let me give you some general advice with fertility foods for men. This is based on a published interview I did with Mama a ja (Mom and I).

Many diets today are very restrictive and can lead to imbalances in the body that affect hormonal and reproductive health. In Chinese Medicine we teach balanced nutrition and as such nothing is excluded. All nutrients have a role to play in our health.

Different people present with different problems and they require different solutions. For instance those who eat a lot of meat, may have to move to a more vegetarian outlook. For those with a blood, iron or vitamin B deficiency they may have to eat more animal fats and proteins. Those with inflammatory conditions may have to move to a low inflammatory diet and so forth.

The 4 Truths of Food

The truth is that healthy eating is a simple matter. In fact, I can some up in the entire Chinese Medical approach in 4 simple points;

  1. Eat plain, simple foods, mostly vegetables and lean meat
  2. Make everything warm and soupy and easy to digest
  3. Eat to schedule, not demand.
  4. Eat till your 70-80% full

Do that, and your 90% of the way there.

You don't need complicated diets. You don't need insane restrictive rules. Most people in fact do not need fancy, unique, unusual or extreme diets. These basic insights into how the stomach works and how energy is broken and down and processed are simple and easily applicable.

That said, once you have the basics down, you can then use your food to treat and more importantly prevent many illnesses and diseases. It's no surprise then that one of the oldest texts on medicine is the Treatise of the Stomach and Spleen.

Any diet that is overly restrictive will lead to nutritional deficiencies that can impact fertility. In my clinic I teach people about the Chinese medicinal diet, a simple balanced approach to eating and develop a solid base of good nutrition and then we introduce more of certain foods and reduce other foods depending on their diagnosis.  For instance some with Blood Deficiency should eat more leafy greens like spinach and meats like beef. Someone with Wind Cold Damp Impediment should avoid beef and spinach, crab, buckwheat and eggs. (Those condition names might seem odd, but they are recognized on equal footing with a western medical diagnosis with the World Health Organisation and simply classify a condition based on it's presenting pathology or internal organ imbalance - I explain these in detail in my free guide, "The 9 Reasons")

My Top Male Fertility Tips

My Top Male Fertility Tips would be to:

  • Meditate, and enjoy light yoga.
  • Avoid cycling and anything that overheats the testicles, (no sauna, Jacuzzi's, tight underwear, motorbikes).
  • Increase the intake of healthy fats found in nuts (assuming no allergy) like almond and Brazil nuts.
  • Avoid oats and porridge.
  • Avoid Bacon and Pork
  • Get more berries in your diet.
  • Absolutely zero alcohol and smoking.
  • Eat a warm bland diet, high in vegetables with small amounts of meat and fish.

Below is a general list of fertility foods for men. Beyond this you need to establish a diagnosis of imbalance and figure out what is causing the specific issue and outline specific nutritional steps to increase male fertility. Thankfully I can help with that. You can organise a consult with me - here.
